Inspired by several trips to Italy, I created a group of paintings that became an often returned-to ongoing theme. Beginning with landscapes and still lifes that reflected my feelings and memories of the experience, they evolved into stories of love, longing, and the human condition. Figures swept back into my paintings, occupants of the Garden of Eden, Earth Mother, Eros or Odysseus journeying home and  the trials and tribulations of love and relationships.
